I think…… I think Charlie Brown is not a super clever kinda guy, sure he is smart in his own way but he is no rocket scientist.

I have never thought of myself as smart, I have Dyslexia and still struggle to spell easy words. Never would have made it thought college or seminary without a computer that does spell check and the help of a variety of people whom I have turned to prof reading and editing help.

In seminary I avoided biblical languages and other classes that I thought were more geared to the tradational church pastor becuase I never felt a call to that life.

For decades I avoided studying for my Ham radio test, I think perhaps because I was not sure I could do it. Then I August of 2017 I dipped my toe in the 1st and most basic skills test, and a year and half later I passed my Amateur Extra the most advanced test and highest class licence. Less than 1% of the US population has an Amateur Extra licence. (.00045%) (Granted Millions don’t care in the least)

I recently became a member of the Faculty for very respected organization and went to their annual meeting, I was so impressed with the caliber and intelligence of those whom I will be working with, I must confess I kept thinking that all these people were so much smarter than me….I kept wondering why they picked me.

Logic tells me that I am a smart person even a brilliant one But letting go of Charlie Brown means letting go a something that has protected me from being wrong, from being smart. Logical or not letting go of Charlie Brown feels like it makes me vulnerable.

The question I am asking myself is can I change, Am I willing to risk some vulnerability to adjust how I see myself……
